Working With Alateen:

All Alateen meetings and events must have Al-Anon Member In Alateen Service (AMIAS) Sponsors and supervision. Please review the Oregon Area Alateen Safety Requirements and the Alateen Safety Guidelines (G-34) linked below.

If you are interested in applying to be an AMIAS (uh-ME-us), contact your local District Representative (DR) or the Area Alateen Process Person (AAPP) with any questions. Fill out and return the completed forms to the DR who will interview you personally and contact your references. The DR signs and submits these documents to the Area Alateen Process Person (AAPP). The applicant will be directed by the AAPP to go through a criminal background check. At that point, the applicant will receive an email from the Criminal Records Information Management System (CRIMS) with a link to questions to be answered. Next is the fingerprinting process by Fieldprint. Appointments are made online at fieldprintoregon.com. Find the location nearest to where you live and make an appointment. If the applicant receives an approval from the background check, the AAPP will submit a request for approval to the World Service Office. After an AMIAS registration number is issued by the WSO, the DR is notified that the applicant is eligible to serve and can begin working with Alateen.
